West Twyford Primary School is a successful, expanding school which will be fully 2 form entry by September 2018. We have Nursery and Reception Classes as well as Years 1 to 6: so we welcome children aged from 3-11 years.
We transferred into a brand new school building in September 2015. It has been resourced with the latest technology in the classroom and specialist teaching rooms for SEND, Art, Music, Cooking and group work. The newly landscaped grounds enable children to be active, creative and enjoy outdoor learning and play. We have a curriculum garden, hen coop, pirate ship play frame, Junior play frame, quiet areas and a large field.
We provide an Education for Life, rich in experiences and interventions that enable children to reach very high levels of academic attainment and also promote social and emotional development. Our programme of school outings and cultural trips is complimented by our extensive range of extra-curricular activities to enrich pupils' experiences. We have a specialism in music with a school band and choir that attend national competitions, and we teach a range of musical instruments.
Additionally, we have a Children's Centre with facilities for pre-school care, externally managed by 'Hungry Caterpillar'. We offer classes for parents, activities for families and a range of service for families with children under 5 years of age.
Please click on our short film below that we made just before we moved into our new school building. We wanted a reminder of our time there and also to celebrate our achievements.
